Keto Pizza

by Jessica

Pizza is one of Grant’s favorite foods, and if I would let him, he would eat it every day for dinner. So, after starting our Keto diet, it was one of the things that he missed. Here is the version that we have liked the best so far.

DSC_8283Mix 1 egg, 1.5 cups of mozzarella cheese, basil, and garlic powder in a bowl, and then spread flat in a pie dish that has been greased. Bake at 425 F for 10 mins.

DSC_8275Take out of the oven, and spread half a can of Hunts tomato sauce on it… we prefer this brand. I normally make two at a time so I can use a whole can and don’t have to store the rest of the sauce.

DSC_8276Spread out and add salt and pepper.

DSC_8277I then add garlic powder, Italian seasoning, basil, and parsley on top. Here I only added the garlic powder and the knorr italienische kraeuterlinge and it is amazing.

DSC_8278Then add whatever other toppings, when doing just plain cheese we add mozzarella, asiago, and parmesan cheese.

DSC_8241Grant likes pepperoni, so sometimes we add that or I love Roma tomatoes on mine as well with bell peppers.

Anyway, once you have the topping on it, bake for another 10 mins and remove from the oven.

DSC_8279For ease of cutting, we use a spatula to slide the pizza onto a cutting board.

DSC_8281Here you can see the crust.

DSC_8282And a side view, we like this a lot and it does really well reheated for lunches which my other pizza recipe did not. So for the two of us, I make two pizzas and we eat 1 sometimes a little bit more and the rest Grant takes for lunch the next day to work.

I love white sauce pizza! I will have to try it with a white sauce next! Did you make your own sauce or use a store bought one?

Hi, thanks for the recipe. I made this last night and it tasted amazing! However, I found the pizza didn’t really hold well together.. Do I need to cook it longer? I did 10 minutes for the crust and 10 minutes for the toppings after the crust was done @ 425. Thanks.

Your Cooking times, are the same as I did. My best bet would be to add more cheese to the crust. The first time I made it, I used a coarsely grated cheese and it held together really well. The second time, I used a finer ground cheese that held together, but not as well. I hope this helps!

This is my modification that worked very well:

2 eggs and 1.5 cups parmesan creates a fluffy and firm crust, crunchy on the edges. 12 min crust bake at 425, then 4-5 broil for topping.

Do you need to use mozzarella, or can you use a combination of shredded cheeses?

We used mozzarella for the base, and a mixed cheese on top, but you can honestly used whatever type of cheese you want.
