The second to last weekend in July, we took Reese on our first road trip to Nashville. This trip should be two hours each way. On the way to Nashville, Reese slept most of the trip, and was just starting to get fussy when we made it to Kira and Andrew’s House. We had no idea what to expect with Reese. We didn’t know if she would decide to not sleep even though we have had her in the pack n play in our room when we had lots of guests, but she did really well.

About 5 minutes after that video, Reese was out cold.
I think I was about to put her to bed for a nap since she was swaddled. She didn’t nap as long during this trip,but that didn’t bother us one bit.
Reese slept really well in her pack and play still through the night like a champ. Here she was sleeping with Papa while I was getting a shower in. She looks like her neck is broken here. Grant tried to move her because it looked so uncomfortable,but she would fuss until she was back to sleeping like this.
Right before Alana’s Birthday Party, Andrew decided to mow the lawn. He somehow upset a hornet’s nest, and got over 15 stings. Here you can see the vegetable ice packets that Kira provided him with.

Kevin and Crae’s daughter Fiona is 4 weeks younger than Reese, and had a MAJOR blow out while I was in the bathroom nursing Reese.

This was the 2 and under area,but Reese was still a little too young to be interested in this.

Alana’s Party Favors were really cool they were those giant bubble wands and bubble soap.
Reese was in such a good mood which made the whole party a lot more fun for Grant and I.
Kira and Andrew had Alana open her gifts later at home which I thought was genius. I have been to only a few little kid parties,but the gifts always seem to bring tears from kids being tired, jealous, wanting to play with the first toy they opened,etc.
Alana’s party was so much fun, and we were so excited we were invited to come.

She was also a good sport even if Reese was over tired and fed up with pictures.
Alana – Grant, Reese, and I love you so much, and loved celebrating your birthday with you. Grant and I still remember coming to the hospital the day you were born and getting to see you. You have grown up so much, we can’t believe you are already two years old! we love witnessing the young lady you are already becoming. We also know you will be a great cousin to Reese, even if she does annoy you at times since she is younger than you. Happy Birthday!
On the way home, it ended up taking us three hours instead of two. Which really isn’t terrible,but Grant and I were both a little tired after that. Reese just was hungry but wanted to snack whenever we stopped rather than truly eat. She also took a VERY short nap rather than sleeping most of the drive. All in all Reese did wonderful on this first trip, and I’m glad we took her. I hope that in the future we can have many more trips to see family.

Thanks for posting about Alana’s party! I’ve been a slacker on my own blog and haven’t had the time to post about it. Thanks for always helping us celebrate milestones. Alana loves you guys and so do we 🙂
