Grant and I were lucky enough to be able to go to Simon and Sarah’s House for Thanksgiving. Of course they were amazing hosts, and it was a ton of fun. Sarah is a great cook and it was really nice to be hosted and visit them since they normally came and visited us. It was also fun seeing where they live since that is a part of South Carolina Grant and I had never been to.
Grant and I just wanted to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving! I know we have a ton to be thankful for, and I am sure you do too!
Since Grant and I moved I still feel like we are here for a prolonged visit, not that I don’t like it here; it just doesn’t feel permanent yet. Time has been dragging and flying by at all the same time. The first few weeks were crazy because of how unorganized they were, and how much we needed to get done in such a short time. Now that are our weekends aren’t completely filled with unpacking it has been lots of fun. We have visited a church a few times and even visited their young married’s care group. One of the girls there is named Jessica and later I found out her married last name is Grasham which I found kinda creepy having NEVER met someone with completely the same name as me. Anyway, I feel like it is Birthday season right now and the Holidays are fast approaching and Grant and I are still trying to figure out what we are doing for each of them.
Everyone is posting about what they did on Halloween, and I realized that I totally forgot to post what we did! It really isn’t anything that exciting. We stayed home!!!! Also, we relaxed which was huge for us. If you know Grant at all, he loves his chill time which I think comes with the territory when you are an introvert. So while Grant “Chills” I tend to either be productive, be crafty, clean like crazy, or read for hours on end. Â We didn’t hand out candy because there are only 3 kids living near us in our complex, and I think their families took them to better(as in more candy is available) neighborhoods. Â It has been colder here (nights in the low 30s to highs in the high 40s low 50s) which really got me in the mood for warmer food. Poor Grant has had to eat TONS of soups,etc. So, I was in the mood for baked apples. My parents used to make the randomly while growing up and this sounded perfect.
I have this pair of Clark Wallabee shoes. I love them,but wish I would have gotten them in the smooth leather rather than the suede. They are to expensive for me to justify getting a different pair,but that is how it goes. I have had them since college, and I have tried to figure out how to clean them. They always have this dirty look that bothers me, and I paid 20 dollars before to have them cleaned professionally,but there isn’t much you can do to keep them clean unless you don’t wear them. I have considered dying them a dark color so that you cannot see the dirt,but I am not to that point yet. I have even looked into putting scotch guard on them,but I heard it doesn’t help much.
