The forgotten New Year’s Post

by jrwarfield March 17, 2012

If you are on Facebook, then this post might be a repeat for you! These pictures were taken on New Year’s Eve, and I totally forgot that I hadn’t posted them yet! The Reinhardts, Grashams, Warfields, and Anthony all were at the Robertson’s house. We had cheese fondu for dinner as well as other goodies, the Robertson’s don’t have a TV just like we don’t so we never got to watch the ball drop  which I think disappointed some, but it was lots of fun.

Dish Detergent

by jrwarfield March 16, 2012

There are some things that I have decided to make myself rather than buying, but wanted to try them before I post about them. At our apartment we have an old dishwasher that doesn’t even have a “dry Jet” slot. We really don’t have an issue with things being cloudy or not clean, I just don’t like paying crazy high prices for things. So below is the tutorial and recipe for dish detergent. I have been using it for a few weeks now and it cleans just as well as the other dish deteregents that I normally use. I normally use anything that I can get cheap so sometimes liquid, sometimes powder.

Cappuccino Muffins

by jrwarfield March 15, 2012

I know I have been posting a lot of recipes lately, but baking and cooking is what I spend a lot of time on. Currently, I have been on a sewing streak ,since Grant is out of town for his training, working on my first ever coat. I am terrified that I will mess it up so I am making a muslin version to make sure it fits right before I spend too much money on expensive fabric and lining.  As well as hemming and fixing lots of our clothes. Grant and I haven’t had a clothes budget in over 2 years now because we really didn’t need clothes; only problem is, after two years of constant wear things just start to wear out. Anyway, below is a great recipe for Cappuccino Muffins! This is a recipe that I got from my sister Tanya who is a great cook and baker! Honestly, I would rather just eat the batter because it is SOOO good, but the muffins baked are even better.

Minecraft Birthday Party

by jrwarfield March 1, 2012

Beth’s husband, Nick, was turning 30, and Beth wanted to throw him a birthday party, but Nick, like Grant wasn’t into surprise parties. So, Beth figured that if it is a surprise party, then at least it could be a lan party. So, Beth and I worked out the finer details of the party. We were able to use a room in the church for it, and the party started at noon and I think the guys were leaving around 9:30pm that night. Normally lan parties last over night, but since all the people attending had wives and some of them children, that wasn’t going to happen.

Whirlwinds!

by jrwarfield February 26, 2012

Grant and I have been so blessed with everything that has been going on lately, but with the blessings have come busyness! Grant started on Thursday and has been doing orientation which he is doing for the remainder of this week as well. So, he hasn’t really gotten to do what his job is per say. The orientation is pretty good just not Grant’s favorite activity since he is an introvert. It has been a nice change for both of us for him to be working, Grant thrives with routines, and now he feels he finally has one. I am excited because I know he is happy working. The biggest change for me is that I have to plan ahead a little bit more with my meals. I was always able to call Grant around lunch time and have him take whatever meal we were having out of the freezer so it would be ready when we got home to cook or bake.

Cakesters….Whoopi Pies

by jrwarfield February 18, 2012

For Ashley’s Baby Shower, I also made Whoopi Pies and forgot to add them in the pictures. So below is how I made them and then the recipe that I used. They turned out really good and they remind me of cakesters a little bit. I bought a Whoopi pie pan, and the funny thing is I like the shape of the Whoopi pies better without it. This pan though, happens to be the perfect shape and size for baking eggs for my breakfast sandwiches that I make.
