Our New Years!

For our New Years, we were invited to hang out with Tanya, Wilson, the girls, The Crofts, and the Amaros. Grant and I have been trying to attend events at church or with church people regularly,but with the holidays and all of these unexpected happenings we felt out of the loop. It was really nice to be able to see everyone again. The Robertsons were finally back from Searcy, and seeing familiar faces did us a lot of good.

Making Yummy Cookies

It is funny what happens with recipes, it might never have been yours,but once you start making it people start associating it with you. I have this cookie recipe that was my 6th grade teachers that my older sister got from her. I made it a lot when I was younger, and everyone says it is mine now. I never really cared about whose recipe it was;  if I wanted to eat it at a family gathering, and no one else was making it  then I would make it.

Our Second and unexpected Christmas!

Here are some of the Christmas decorations that I made/got this year! Grant and I went to Ohio for Christmas this year, and were planning on spending my one day off in Austin just hanging out.  This would have been our first time as a couple spending a holiday without family. But alas, life doesn’t happen as you always plan it.

Our New and Improved Dining Set!

Grant and I said we weren’t a huge fan of the chairs,but they are chairs. The chairs natural coloring goes well with the green on the glass, but “we” as in I decided that a different color was needed. I bought framed art from Ikea as well, and so we decided to match that.

The Joys of Craigslist and the deceit of Ikea

So my company has cut some of our hours until business picks up which means that I have had a little bit more time at home. Yesterday, I got almost a half day off, so I had a few errands to run.  There was  a framed art piece at Ikea that I wanted, and wanted to make sure that it wouldn’t be discontinued.This is Ikea’s habit with us. We drool over something, and as soon as we can afford, have room for it, or need it, it is gone. We search craigslist,and most of the time we can’t find it. A great example is the Arild couch that we want.
