He loves Grant and he loves playing peekaboo. He is also very very ticklish.

Sebastian got his shots, and cried a lot. He also fussed for a good 7 minutes afterwards. Where Reese was over it once we comforted her, he would even stop nursing to cry and whine at me to let me know he was very unhappy with me. He had no reactions to the shots so that is a plus.

Sebastian is a hardcore noodler as we call it. If he is bored or doesn’t like the position  you are holding him in. He just starts squirming, anything to get out of said position. If you aren’t careful, you might drop him. He has no fear right now in that department.

Sebastian is sitting really well as you can see. When he does fall over to the side or forward, he will normally catch himself or transition to being on his stomach. If he leans straight back then he can’t really catch himself, but he normally is good about not doing that.

Sebastian still doesn’t have any teeth. He has all of the signs of teething, but no actual teeth.

Sebastian knows his name, but doesn’t always look or turn when we call. Sometimes I’m pretty sure he is so engrossed in something else that he doesn’t even notice us calling, sometimes he looks right away, and other times he purposefully ignores us.

He is doing a great job picking up items with both hands, switching them from hand to hand, and of course everything goes into his mouth. He is especially interested in all of the tags on toys.

Sebastian likes splashing in the bath tub. He isn’t a fan of getting washed though.

We still cloth diaper which is nice. We have been having some issues with diaper rashes from certain things I am eating, but I’m hoping we will work it out soon. I am diary free, peanut free, and bean free now. I might cut out gluten, but I’m not sure yet. He needs two liners the infant and regular one for all of this diapers.

He is very vocal, but not making consonant sounds yet.

Poor guy also had his first ear infection this month.

Sebastian got his first injury. At small group, another little boy accidentally hit Sebastian in the eye with a cash register toy. We didn’t notice it was this bad until we got home. It got a little black later too.

Sebastian graduated from his physical therapy. His torticollis is gone, and he is doing really well and even advanced for his age now. Probably all the tummy time he does now.

We still take evening walks when we can. Now that it stays light out longer in the evening, it is easier.

Sebastian is a stomach sleeper. He mainly sleeps in a sleep sack. He goes to sleep around 6-6:30pm and wakes up around 5:30/6am. He now takes 2-3 naps a day. He doesn’t take long naps these days normally around 40 minutes, but we are slowly getting a few longer ones closer to an hour or hour and a half.

We had bouts of colder weather so Sebastian was sporting his cold weather suit from H&M.

IMG_1451

He is wearing size 9-12 month clothes depending on the outfit. His pants are 9 month where his shirts and onesies are mainly 9 months or 12 months since he has a long torso just like Reese.

IMG_1509

Sebastian’s first time in the Baby Jogger stroller in the normal seat rather than his baby car seat with attachment. He loves riding in it now because he can see so much more than before.

IMG_1527

I love how proud of himself he is in this picture.

This was him at the very beginning of being 5 months old so still a little wobbly.

IMG_1530

Poor Sebastian has to deal with Reese. If he is really into something, she sometimes will force her way into playing with said item. We are working on this since it isn’t very nice. Here you can see she pushed his toy away so she could play with it and sat down right in front of him.

Here Reese was annoyed that I wouldn’t let her take the toy from Sebastian, but eventually she found something else to play with. Just testing our boundaries all the time.

IMG_1538

Sebastian likes story time a lot too. I have started taking him with just the two of us even when Reese is in school. He definitely can’t sit as long and pay attention as Reese could at this age. At the end of story time, he is itching to go play or move around.

He is also unpredictable with all things. Here he is in a video I was taking for my friend Elise, and he surprised me with spitting up.

IMG_1572

Sebastian had another very short road trip; we had been on the look out for another Stokke high chair. We found one for a great price used, and so we drove to Birmingham and back to get it in one day.

IMG_1584

They are expensive, but for Reese’s we had a lot of store credit we could use when we bought it, and his we got used so I’m thrilled we finally found one for him since he is really ready for it now.

IMG_1585

Sebastian loves his infantino sheep. It is a teething toy made of natural rubber, and he likes it the best of all of them that he has. Reese did too. I think it is because at this age it is easier to hold than Sophie was. They only sell the lion version on amazon now.

He is really starting to enjoy eating. We have started practicing with a sippy cup,but so far he isn’t grasping it yet. He loves green beans and sweet potatoes as well as apple sauce. He eats lots of other things, but definitely has his preferences. I still have been using my babycook a lot. He still nurses a lot,but I don’t mind since he sleeps so well at night. He also is a fan of this silicon feeder. We bought it for Reese, but she didn’t show much interest in it.

IMG_1626

When both kiddos are grumpy after their afternoon naps, I normally pack them up in the Thule Chariot Cougar 2. It is amazing, so lightweight, doubles as a bike trailer, and holds so much stuff!! They are so much happier when we get outside, but this was right before heading out.  As you can see he also no longer needs to use the infant sling since he can sit in it on his own now.

IMG_1632

Reese is his favorite person ever. She can make him laugh better than any of us.

Just her jumping makes him giggle every time.

Here he is laughing at Reese because she was putting her foot on the rim of the tub and letting it drop back in. He thought it was hilarious apparently.

IMG_1640

During his afternoon nap, he sleeps in the pack n play in our room while Reese naps in their room. He still takes shorter naps, so they do those separately. In about 4 months, I will start getting them used to sleeping in one room for their joint afternoon nap.

IMG_1659

He loves seeing himself on our phones or in a mirror.

Sebastian is always interested in his feet. His outfits also tend to have faces or designs on the top of the feet so that doesn’t help. If he is laying down he will pull on his feet, and sometimes chew on them.

IMG_1706

It is funny how as parents, you do the craziest stuff to get a laugh out of your kids. He likes the ergo, and is fine outward facing or inward facing.

IMG_1749Sebastian is pretty mobil. He can scoot backwards, side to side, and in circles.

He will get up on his knees and rock back and forth. He is very close to crawling.

This was him also doing the same thing.

IMG_1841

This was his first time in a grocery cart, and he was rockin it.

IMG_1923

He LOVES playing with the car steering wheel. We were in the drop off line at Reese’s “school,” and one time I brought him forward with me while we waited. I expected him to be bored, but he LOVED it.

IMG_1936

Here he is napping on our bed, he normally doesn’t do that often, but I try to move him to different locations in the house to nap so he isn’t only used to sleeping in his crib.

We sing songs, read books(he mainly tries to eat them), and do clapping games. At the library story time, we also do extra rhymes and bouncing games.

IMG_1940

Sebastian likes his exersaucer, but strangely enough he still doesn’t jump in it. He is a lot more advanced physically than Reese was at this age,but just doesn’t like jumping which is almost all she did in it.IMG_7568

Here we were on a playground trip. I know they aren’t super fun for him yet,but he does enjoy watching all the other kids playing.

IMG_7573

We read lots of books, and this is one that we always leave on the ground for tummy time. One side you see the outside of the vehicles, the other side you see a cross-section of what is going on inside.

We have been trying to be as active as possible especially on the weekends when Grant is home.

FullSizeRender (5)Sebastian loved it,but also took a nap during part of the hike.

IMG_7724

He even got a diaper change in nature, but he wasn’t bothered.

IMG_7753He loves being outside just like Reese. I do have to be more careful with him because he has super light skin, and I think he will burn more easily than the rest of us.

Thanks for reading this update on our little man. We think he is super awesome, and we are so glad that he completes our family so well.
