Random things that I wanted to show and share blog about!
I am sorry if they don’t all make sense but for some reason I thought them work sharing!
I am SOO behind in Posting, but here is a post from January, LOL!! I hosted a house party, which is where a company gives you some of their products to test out for free with your friends. So I invited all of my female coworkers and girls from the young marrieds. I feel like I never host get togethers because we have such a small apartment, but it was a great turnout. It worked out well, some people came early, and left early; some came late and stayed late, and every other combination that you can think of.
Now that Grant and I had the new table to actually allow 6+ people to eat here, we( as in I) jumped on the chance to host. Simon was in town after spending some time working in Dimebox before his semester started;so we invited Tanya, Wilson, and the girls to come over too. I made five cheese alforno, garlic bread, while Tanya brought the salad, and we used Kira’s awesome poppy seed dressing. Oh, yeah, I made Roki’s chocolated chip pound cake. Everything tasted great, and I had done as many things as possible in advanced so that when I got home from work it was a very smooth and clean process.
For our New Years, we were invited to hang out with Tanya, Wilson, the girls, The Crofts, and the Amaros. Grant and I have been trying to attend events at church or with church people regularly, but with the holidays and all of these unexpected happenings we felt out of the loop. It was really nice to be able to see everyone again. The Robertsons were finally back from Searcy, and seeing familiar faces did us a lot of good.
Here are some of the Christmas decorations that I made/got this year! Grant and I went to Ohio for Christmas this year, and were planning on spending my one day off in Austin just hanging out. This would have been our first time as a couple spending a holiday without family. But alas, life doesn’t happen as you always plan it.
So my company has cut some of our hours until business picks up which means that I have had a little bit more time at home. Yesterday, I got almost a half day off, so I had a few errands to run. There was a framed art piece at Ikea that I wanted, and wanted to make sure that it wouldn’t be discontinued. This is Ikea’s habit with us. We drool over something, and as soon as we can afford, have room for it, or need it, it is gone. We search craigslist, and most of the time we can’t find it. A great example is the Arild couch that we want.
