It has been a tradition in Grant’s family to set up the Christmas tree together on Thanksgiving or the day after. I meant to start on Thanksgiving,but I think it really happened the day after. Grant and Gail were happy to let me work and I was happy to do it.
I decided to enter a contest at www.prudentbaby.com. In this contest, you make a stocking that has knit fabric somehow incorporated, and the winner gets a serger. I figured I might as well try even though I figure I won’t win. Grant and I need stockings, but I wanted at least three; an uneven number cause I like how that looks on a fire place. I used the stocking tutorial from Fabric Worm,and I show below how I made the stocking.
I was finally able to help host my first baby shower. I was wanting to help host one sooner,but so many people had already volunteered that there was never room until now. I was able to help host Ashley’s Baby shower who just had her baby Ruby! I had a great group of girls that I was working with, and most of them had already hosted a shower so it was nice to hear what had and hadn’t worked before at a shower. We got our inspiration from here. Our theme was Bubbles or Pop, and so we incorporated as much as possible in the signs, food types, and decor. Some of us baked, some bought items, some made decor, and some made signs.
As I know I have mentioned before, I got a new job at the end of April, I still cannot believe I have been working here for over four months already! I love my new job! Don’t get me wrong, I really miss all of my friends from my previous job; At Alpha, we almost lived on top of each other because there was only so much space, and you really got to know people well. At my new job, everyone has their own offices, I am not complaining as it gives me more freedom to do what I like in there, but it does get lonely sometimes. Anyway, I knew I wanted my office to be fun, trendy, and a space I could work in. I was trying to explain to my coworker that once Grant and I get a house it will not look like this. Grant and I both prefer a more minimalistic style with less pops of color and more monochromatic white, grays, and blacks. Anyway, here is the progression of my office so far; it is nowhere near done, but it is a start.
I am SOO behind in Posting,but here is a post from January, LOL!! I hosted a house party, which is where a company gives you some of their products to test out for free with your friends. So I invited all of my female coworkers and girls from the young marrieds. I feel like I never host get togethers because we have such a small apartment,but it was a great turnout. It worked out well, some people came early, and left early; some came late and stayed late, and every other combination that you can think of.
