I am now 37 weeks, so here is my 36 week update.
How big is baby: Six pounds and the size of a head of romaine lettuce.
Weight gain: 23 Pounds
Sleep: In general, I have been sleeping just fine. It is harder to get in and out of bed at nights since my stomach is bigger and heavier, but no true complaints. Every once in a while I will have a night where I toss and turn a lot, but nothing too bad and not too often.
Diet/Cravings/Aversions: Right now chocolate and peanut butter sound amazing all the time, but I’m trying to watch that I only eat when I’m really hungry rather than bored. I’m fine with gaining as much weight as needed for her and I to be healthy, but I also don’t want to go crazy with the junk food especially.
Movement: She moves a lot through out the day to where Grant can constantly feel it. She loves poking out on my right side still so that always makes me chuckle.
What I’m loving: Our Stokke Highchair arrived. We have gotten as many of the bigger items for our little girl used as we could because she won’t care if the item is new or used. We tried to find our high chair used too,but in this area we didn’t have much luck. So this is our one big splurge for her since we know Alana can use it while she is here and ours is too little to use it, and because she will be able to use it for a lot longer than a typical high chair. I also got to dress up to go to the annual ladies tea at our church which is a whole lot of fun. I got to reuse my fascinator that I first bought for Raya’s bridal tea.
Symptoms: I can tell that my stomach is much heavier, at the end of the day or a longer walk I can tell that she is for sure head down which my Gyno confirmed. I don’t think she has dropped yet,but I have been told with first babies it is sometimes harder to tell. I measured 37 weeks at my last appointment which is on target for “my due date” which I think is May 15th rather than May 18th,but you never know since she can come whenever she pleases. I think I have had one true contraction so not much obvious progress, but I have been told it can all go gradually or 0-100 in hours so yeah we will see.
What I’m looking forward to: I’m looking forward to knowing when her birthday will be, meeting her, and of course seeing what she looks like. I almost have everything wrapped up at work for my maternity leave, and have one big event that I’m planning in advance and telling others how to run if she decides to come earlier than expected just to be on the safe side. I will be taking at least 8 weeks off, and then going back part time to see if we think that works for our family. Then we will go from there planning wise.
Thoughts: So far we have made great progress on most of the things we want to get done, so right now we are able to work on projects that aren’t needs but would be nice to have done so that is fun.
Let me know if you have any questions!
