I was told that having a pregnancy pillow can be a life saver when you really start to get bigger. I wanted to have one,but not pay a lot of money for it. I was very interested in this Leahco Snoogle pillow, but I wasn’t a fan of the price. So, when I found one through a local facebook group, I decided to buy it used for $20 than new for $55. I know some people are really against a pillow used, so this part is whatever you prefer. I washed the pillow and the case it came in, but the muslin case was stained even if the pillow wasn’t. So I decided that I wanted a new cover for it. Well the covers range from 30 to 4o dollars. Which I didn’t really want to pay. So, I found this tutorial online, but wasn’t a huge fan of the extra seams that she had to sew on her cover. So, I made my own, and have taken step by step pictures. I hope this helps!
Sewing/Crafting
Right after our vacation to the beach, I had a huge list of things to do like organizing, finding the last minute items to wear since there were so many events to attend at the wedding. I also wanted to put together a baby shower gift for my new nephew and sister in law. I knew I wouldn’t be able to attend her baby shower since it was so close to the time of the wedding. I normally don’t make gifts for second babies, it isn’t that I love them less, it is just wayyyyyy too expensive to give that many gifts to people, and I have heard with the second baby there aren’t many things you still need. Anyway, here is the last gift I sewed up for my sister in law.
I was excited to attend the Ladies Tea for the first time at our church. They were asking for people to volunteer to make some food for the event which is how this whole thing started. I emailed asking what food they needed only to be asked to decorate a table. Having never attended this event, I had no clue what to expect or how the other tables would look. I asked for more guidelines and hit two large hitches. I needed to provide my own china and 2 teapots among lots of other things. I don’t own china or 2 teapots. I emailed a lot of the girls here in the area I knew and found one lady willing to let me borrow her china, but no one I knew had one, let alone two teapots.
So, ever since I got my new sewing machine, I have been having a lot of fun stretching myself in terms of sewing. I was just going to give you a round up of a few of the things I have been working on.
I really enjoy sewing randomly, but sometimes it is a pain. Mainly because I constantly have to take down  or set up sewing machine, serger, ironing board, iron, etc. First world problems I know; Grant is so patient with how messy it gets when I sew because threads and needles end up everywhere. I have been trying to organize our clothing and one of the things we did is take a bunch of our t shirts that we never wear and put them into a bin where I plan to practice certain sewing to get the hang of it. So, if I mess up, I am not wasting purchased fabric which is expensive.
