Christmas 2011

by jrwarfield January 2, 2012

This year it was the “Grasham” Christmas, we switch off every year, and next year we will probably be in Ohio. I have to say this was probably the best Christmas that we have had as a group since Grant and I have been married! We really missed Kira and Andrew since they weren’t able to come. Also, we forgot to take a group shot which really stinks. Oh well! My sister Julia got engaged, we ate great food, and had a lot of fun just being with family. Obviously by the time the break was over, we were ready to go home even though we did have a great time.

Stocking Tutorial

by jrwarfield December 30, 2011

As you saw before, I made the first stocking for a contest, but we didn’t want our other stockings to look like that one. So, I found this tutorial and inspiration here. I love her blog and read it anyway, but her step by step instructions are great!

Christmas Decor & New Stockings!

by jrwarfield December 29, 2011

It has been a tradition in Grant’s family to set up the Christmas tree together on Thanksgiving or the day after. I meant to start on Thanksgiving, but I think it really happened the day after. Grant and Gail were happy to let me work and I was happy to do it.

Thanksgiving

by jrwarfield December 28, 2011

This year we were very excited for Thanksgiving to come. Gail, Grant’s mom, was coming into town to spend Thanksgiving with us. This was my first time hosting, and I can’t lie and say I wasn’t nervose about all that it could entail. When you marry into a family there are always core differences, but differences aren’t always a bad thing! It is so much fun so always learn about how Grant grew up and what the similar and what was different.

Dime Box, Family, & Hair Cuts!

by jrwarfield December 27, 2011

During the first weekend in December, Grant and I went to Dime Box to my parents property. My sister Kira was visiting from Nashville and so everyone who was close by and had the time came to dime box to hang out. Kira and Andrew couldn’t come for Thanksgiving this year or Christmas, so it was nice to see Kira again; Andrew was on a business trip. It was a pretty chill time, but the girls always make it fun.

Stocking Tutorial Entry for Contest

by jrwarfield December 14, 2011

I decided to enter a contest at www.prudentbaby.com. In this contest, you make a stocking that has knit fabric somehow incorporated, and the winner gets a serger. I figured I might as well try even though I figure I won’t win. Grant and I need stockings, but I wanted at least three; an uneven number cause I like how that looks on a fire place. I used the stocking tutorial from Fabric Worm, and I show below how I made the stocking.
