Pregnancy Post – 32 Weeks

by jrwarfield

I am now 33 weeks, so here is my 32 week update.

Check out the week 31 update Here:

31 weeks
32 weeksHow far along:
 32
 weeks

How big is baby:  Three pounds twelve ish ounces or up to four pounds and the size of a head of lettuce/bok choy.

Weight gain:  18 Pounds – So not a lot of gain this week, but the OBGYN says I’m still measuring perfectly so no worries there.

Sleep: Sleeping really well just super tired around 9:30 or 10 so trying to actually get to bed around those times.

Diet/Cravings/Aversions: I have been loving mineral water. Grant got an awesome set up for me(will do a blog post about it later), so I have been drinking a ton of it as well as tons of fruits and veggies lately. Right now baby is perfectly happy with green smoothies so that has been a nice snack during the days or homemade fruit salad.

Movement: She has been moving a ton lately, but the new thing this week is Hiccups. I have only felt them twice now,but is kinda fun and different from some of the other movements.

What I’m loving: At my last gyno appointment, the nurse who takes the blood pressure is also supposed to get the babies heart rate. This time she was not having it. She literally kicked the Doppler anytime it got close enough to get the heart beat and moved around so much that it took longer than 3 minutes to finally get the heart rate which was 144 which is in the great range.  Normally it takes less than 30 seconds to find the heartbeat and then wait long enough so they have a good reading. The nurse said she much prefers chasing a baby like that than to have a sluggish, possibly unhealthy baby to track.  She also wasn’t sure how she could move that much since it doesn’t seem like she has that much room. I thought it was funny, and after, a few of the other nurses were making jokes about how they were wondering if they should come in and help since it normally never takes that long. 🙂

Symptoms: My “biggest” symptom has been an occasional cankle. She likes to have the bulk of her weight on my left side, and so the gyno says it cuts some of the blood off to that leg, so sometimes at night my left ankle will be a little bit more swollen. On days when I sit very little and am active I don’t have that problem. Since the ankle always looks normal again in the morning my gyno isn’t concerned, but it is symptom. My stomach is still getting bigger and my belly button flatter and flatter so we will see if if ever pops or just stays flat during the duration of this pregnancy.

What I’m looking forward to: We are in the final stages of a few projects around the house, and I will be glad when we can cross those off and regroup on what else are our highest priorities. Gail will be coming for a visit later this month and staying for my baby shower. My cousin’s wife, Sarah, and my sister Kira will also be attending that shower, so I’m excited about that.

Thoughts: I can’t believe I’m already in the 8th month of pregnancy, it is all going so fast! I have made a nice dent in the list of freezer meals. I still have a lot that I want to prepare, but at least I have a few ready just in case she decides to surprise us earlier than expected. I will do a post on our favorite freezer meals later.
