Sebastian is a great sleeper at night, he goes to sleep around 6pm, and wakes up around 5:30am or 6:00am depending on the morning. During his growth spurt this month, he would wake up once at night to nurse and go back to sleep, but luckily that only lasted one week. He takes 3-4 naps a day still, but they all tend to be shorter. Around 40-45 minutes a piece. This does make everything a lot harder for me since Reese gave me solid hours or one and a half hour naps at this point, but I am not complaining.
Nursing is going great, we had to get over those few issues in the first month or two, and now it is wonderful. I feel so blessed to have such a great support system that helped me while the two of us were figuring it out. As you can see below, Sebastian likes to eat. He is very distracted while eating these days so I try to nurse him in a room where Reese isn’t. That doesn’t work most of the time since Reese wants to be where we are,but we deal.
He will smile at anyone and is super happy. Here you can see life with kids… sigh.. Reese. :p
Right now Sebastian sits in a booster seat or bumbo when we eat dinner so he can see. We are on the hunt for a second used Stokke highchair for him.
Sebastian is very vocal. Here is he trying to get Reese’s attention.
Occasionally, Reese plays very sweetly with Sebastian like she is doing here. As you can see he is loving it as well.
We are down to once every other week rather than once a week at physical therapy. I take pictures of a lot of the exercises I need to do with him so I don’t forget. He is doing great, and as she says we are just finding lots of little nit picky things at this point since his strength is getting really good.
Sebastian spits up which is something we keep forgetting. Reese never spit up, but would get gas and colicky from dairy, peanuts, and beans. Sebastian gets very gassy from beans so I cannot eat any which is sad,but if I eat any dairy he spits up a lot and I think gets reflux. So if I don’t eat diary he spits up here and there, but that is more than Reese did. So nothing wrong with it, just different. I am able to eat peanuts with Sebastian; as far as I can tell they do not bother him.
Just like Reese, Sebastian loves seeing himself in the mirror.
On the one flat area of the Hike.
In general, Sebastian is not startled by loud noises. He isn’t as wary of strangers as Reese was. He does great at the chiropractors when we go as well as the physical therapist. I have also gone to the Y to work out, and he does great in childcare. The workers all know his name, and will switch areas just so they can hold him.
Sebastian likes reading books, being sung to, talked to, tickled, Reese, and ceiling fans. He is a huge squirmer, when he doesn’t want to be held or sitting the noodling as we call it starts. He mainly is fussy when he is tired, bored, or has a dirty diaper.
We call Sebastian a variety of nicknames, Sebastian, kleiner Mann(little man), and mein Liebling(my darling), Spatz (Sparrow.) Reese calls him Basty (Pronounced by her more like BasCHty.)
Thanks for reading this update on our little man.
