Our Resort!

by gswarfield August 14, 2008
Grant and I checked the weather channel, and because of hurricane edwardo, we were only supposed to get rain, but they lie! We got rain before we woke up and then mainly pretty days after that. This is a picture of part of our resort that was taken from the beach, behind it, there is a sky walk thingy and the main offices and one of two parking garages. This resort is so new that there are some parts that are still being built. For instance, they have a roof swimming pool that isn’t open yet, but there are two other pools on both sides of the resort that are open to use now.

This is a picture taken from our porch of the beach and then you can see part of the pool area below with the tiki hut.

Our balcony or porch thing. It is very nice because no matter how hot it is outside there is constant shade and a nice place that we have had dinner already.

A picture of our bathroom, it hard to take pictures like this, and since we are assuming that not everyone is completely interested in this, it is ok.

Our bedroom.

Extra beds and sleeping space in case we have a fight I guess ;p! But Grant and I were talking about how that would be a cool place to sleep when we were kids(the bunk bed nooks).

The kitchen which is stocked with literally everything that you could need which was a definite plus cause we were hoping they would.

A view of the living room.

Awkward picture of me walking.

the balcony and another cheesy picture.

another pool picture.

The kitchen dining area!

DRIVING!

by gswarfield August 14, 2008
Grant and I have had our share of driving, and as it seems these trips are no different. We are safe, so I cannot complain, but they do get old. We drove the 13 hour drive from Arkansas to Ohio before the wedding, and then after the wedding 8 hours to Nashville to stay in the Opyrland Hotel in Nashville which Daniel and Sarina gave us as a wedding gift, and it was a really beautiful place! Then the next morning, we left to make our way to Panama City, Florida. I offered to drive, but Grant likes driving, and Honestly, I think its a guy thing. I am not a bad driver, and I know he trusts my driving more than some other people, but I like to drive without Mr. backseat driver next to me about to make my car into the flinestone mobile. Just Joking, but seriously, he isn’t bad- I’m exaggerating, but he drove all of these distances by himself without any of my help which I find very impressive.

A random road picture that Grant took, and I have no idea where that was.

I just wanted to show how exciting our car rides are, I’m sure everyone wishes to ride with us in the future! He always tells me he won’t take pictures of me when I sleep, and he LIES!!! Oh well, I can’t really do much to stop him except take revenge pictures, but anyway, we were both really glad to make it to Florida to get a little bit of a driving break!

Some Wedding Pictures

by gswarfield August 14, 2008
For those of you who don’t have face book, here are some of the pictures that Kira posted on Face book. Also, in the mix are a few pictures that Grant took with his i phone during our photography session thingy…which I didn’t know he took. So, even though I am not particularly fond of some of the pictures, I figure Grant will be posting them later anyway, so not a battle worth fighting! ;p

For all of my Harding friends and family, be relieved, this is definitely sparkling grape juice. Even though my face looks goofy, and it might seem the taste was weird, but honestly, I was praying I wouldn’t miss my mouth… silk is not the most forgiving fabric!

This picture was probably the weirdest for me to see because Grant and I don’t like to display affection publicly! Kissing in front of a lot of people is weird to think about lol!

During the ceremony, Josh our officiant told us to just think about key points that he would bring up during his talk, and I was laughing at that thinking I will be paying attention to it all. RIGHT, I am glad that I did get key points, and am surprised that I got that much!

This is a picture of my Grandma Eleanor Grasham and Grandpa William Grasham with Mia my flower girl and my niece and Kira and Andrew Fleshman my sister and brother in law! I was soo happily surprised by how many of my family members could attend my wedding!

This is my oldest sister Tanya Robertson and her Daughter my niece Mia who as I stated above was my flower girl. The cutest thing that happened was that when she was put in that cute dress she knew that she was look’en good! She mainly speaks German and kept saying, ” Schick, Schick.” This means fancy or chic, and it kept making us all laugh since this was her first more formal outfit!

This is Kira and Andrew Fleshman again!

Me in my dress!I got such a great deal on it, it doesn’t seem real!

This is Jessica Stachler who is my good friend from my church who was amazing enough to video tape my wedding! She is such an amazing sweet person, and I was so lucky to her there with me on this day!

Us walking out of the church, and I don’t think you can really see the bubbles, but they are there.

At a different time I guess…

That is the church that I got married in, and you can kind of see me standing to the right of the main door. Since the church is very old, it has only one other room and no bathroom in it. So, I was not allowed inside until when I had to walk down the isle, so I was chill’in. It was such beautiful weather. I had read it was going to rain so I was ready for the worst, so it was very nice to have my expectations surpassed!

This was when the photographer came to take some photos before we left for the church. This is in our back yard, and it turned out a lot better than I could have hoped.

As you can see, my mother loves plants, almost as much as her kids, and her garden is so beautiful because of it. If you look closely, you can see Mia blending in very well. This was a blessing because it is easier to take pictures outside than in a crowded house of hyper people. It was also more calming for me because I got to pretend that no one was watching the pictures!

This is our amazing photographer Mr. Scott Sidol! We first met him at Matt and Megan Vitarella’s wedding, and He was the deciding factor whether we would have a more traditional wedding or elope.

More pictures

Poor Mr. Sidol had to think a lot about each picture because this church is in the middle of a circle , and there are cars constantly driving round and round.

Just another picture.

Setting up for the reception

by gswarfield August 14, 2008
Grant and I were so fortunate to have so many different people help with this wedding and reception. It all started out on Friday morning with my dad, Wilson, and Grant helping move the tables and chairs, and Tanya making food and taking care of her daughters to give the rest of us time to do other things. My mom had stayed up the night before sewing my beautiful table runners!

In this picture, you can see the bird cage that held our cards, kind of weird, but it grew on me. It also has our guest book there and the picture frame that people signed.

This is what the tables looked like when we were completely done!

Here you can see my mom ironing table cloths which was a tremendous help, and me putting something down.

Me setting more things up. Grant set up a whole bunch too, but I always forget to take pictures, so he isn’t in them which is stupid!

This was later on Friday when I was back at the church putting up the finishing touches.

Me writing out last minute instructions to Mr. and Mrs. Brazle and Katie Ruhl who were HUGE helps with getting all the food ready to be served, and lighting my 200+ tea lights-I’m sure that was fun!

This is the half way process for the beautiful cake that Gail Baked for us, it was sooo yummy! There was also the needed support of Amanda in many different ways whether it was emotional or comical relief. It was a chocolate cake that had cherries in the chocolate mix, and then a layer of cherries in between. It’s funny how it was so good, and I only got one bite. Oh well, maybe when we come back to Ohio there will be some left over!

This picture is slightly out of order, but after decorating for the reception Grant and I saw that car, and we couldn’t help the urge to take a picture. It is a Toyota Avalon with a tree hanging out of both sides of the back windows!

I again wanted to thank all of my family and friends who helped with the tearing down process of everything that was left of the reception! I was trying to make it as easy as possible so it wouldn’t be a huge inconvenience for everyone!

Here are some pictures of the church that Grant and I got married in. This is the historic Tallmadge Circle church. We were taking pictures during the preparations for someone else’s rehearsal.

SO MUCH HELP!

by gswarfield August 13, 2008
Once in Ohio, there were a lot of things that I still needed to get done. I was just having to plan a small wedding, but it still took a lot of time. Most of the planning things I got done in Arkansas, but summer classes and a wedding can get a little hectic. My teachers were definately cool though because they let me take my classes early. During this summer, Grant has been working at Doc’s Grill and will continue to do that during this following semester.

I still needed to make programs and menus which took a lot more time than I wanted, but Julia, Wilson, Tanya, Kira, and Zhenya were an amazing help! Here is Julia helping me with cutting and taping, and Tanya cooking which was such an amazing help!

Me cutting stuff.

My mom’s beautiful Garden which was a really nice thing to have since we had beautiful weather and lots of family to socialize with.

Here is Zhenya helping me with stuff for the reception.

This is me writing out my seating chart…nothing too crazy, I hope that you all liked where you sat, and if you didn’t, then umm I can’t change it! ;p

Here is Zhenya again, she and Julia literally helped me for multiple hours with stuff. I feel so blessed to have such amazing friends and family who are willing to give their time and effort whenever and wherever they can!
