Pregnancy Post – 12 Weeks

by jrwarfield

I know a lot of people won’t be interested in reading these pregnancy posts which I totally understand. So I will try to keep the same title so it is very easy to skip this post if reading it isn’t interesting to you. I also plan to keep a similar layout each week just so you know what to expect. Grant likes routines so I figured might as well implement it for a few months on the blog too. So I plan to only have one picture per week, and then an update answering the same questions.  Since this is the first post however, I will post pictures that we have before 12 weeks as well so just you can see the beginning progression… sorry we skipped week 8.

How far along: 12 weeks

How big is baby: 1/2 ounce and the size of a large plum.

Weight gain: None, I lost some in the beginning and still hovering around my normal weight.

Sleep: I am a stomach sleeper; so far I can still do that, but I do notice faster when I have to pee at nights. Which I must admit is super annoying since I never did that before getting pregnant.

Diet/Cravings/Aversions: In the beginning everything like juice and fruit sounded too sweet; all I wanted was chips, salsa, salted nuts, and lunch meats(which you have to be careful of I know.) This week I really wanted Fajitas! Pretty much any meat or seafood always sounds delicious. In the beginning I HATED having to eat soo many small meals. We purposely never bought snack food but, during the nauseous times I had to eat tons of small portions. I also had to get food in me right when I woke up or it got bad. So, for week 7, I literally kept a box of cereal on my bedside table. I think this is the first time I have had cereal in 3-4 years. So once week 7 and 8 were done, I could eat less often and was a happy camper.

Movement: None that I can feel.

What I’m loving: Finally getting to tell people, but honestly I feel like I am still wrapping my head around this. I have to constantly remind myself that I am pregnant.

Symptoms: Week 7 was terrible with nausea, week 8, 9, and 10 had one bout of vomiting each, but since then I have been feeling great. I am sleepy at 9pm every night or earlier, and I have taken a few naps since being pregnant, but other than that nothing major.

What I’m looking forward to: Our Gender Ultrasound later this month…hoping the baby cooperates.

Thoughts: Starting a baby registry is pretty intimidating, luckily I have sisters who can help me figure out what things are needs verses waste of space  and money. It is super strange having a stomach that stinks out this far and throws me off when Grant mentions it because it still doesn’t feel real.

Let me know if you have any questions!
