Pregnancy Post – 15 Weeks
I just started week 16, so here is my week 15 update.
How far along: 15 weeks
How big is baby: two to three ounces and the size of a navel orange.
Weight gain: None yet.
Sleep: Still sleeping on my stomach, and still needing one trip to the bathroom each night. I am also drinking a ton more water so I know that this is part of the reason that I need to go more often.
Diet/Cravings/Aversions: Nothing new this week.
Movement: Before, I had never felt anything except gas which is very different feeling while pregnant, but toward the end of this week, I felt a things that felt like mini muscle spasms. At first, I thought they couldn’t be the baby but then it would come again and randomly. So, it wasn’t very often, but I think a few times I have. I guess I will see later if it keeps happening if it really is our baby or if I’m just crazy. During our last gender ultrasound the tech informed us, that the majority of the placenta is right over the baby as in right under my skin and muscle on my stomach. So, that means that others might not be able to feel the baby on top,but will need to feel more on the sides, once it moves strongly enough to be felt by others. I was glad she told us that.
What I’m loving: We were able to find out that we are having a baby girl!! We also were able to spend Thanksgiving with family which was wonderful.
Symptoms: This week I was just a little bit more tired than last, but I think part of that had to do with staying up much later than normal since we were with family.
What I’m looking forward to: Feeling the baby more (if that is what I’m truly feeling), and I booked my flight to go to Austin which is super exciting.
Thoughts: Being grateful for Kira who was able to recommend baby products, let me borrow books, and just be there for emotional support when I had questions. I know I am lucky to have so many other great women in my life, but since Kira is the closest in proximity, I have been asking her more than others thus far. We are trying to not buy too much stuff ourselves for the baby. We bought a used stroller off of craigslist this weekend while in Nashville because we can’t stand the thought of someone paying over $300 for it when our baby won’t care if the stroller is used or new. But we don’t plan to buy anything else for baby until after my baby showers.
Let me know if you have any questions!
